1. Overview
MindMuse is a local macOS desktop application for AI-powered music generation and speech synthesis. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
MindMuse does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on our servers:
- Your music prompts or text inputs
- Generated audio tracks or speech files
- Reference audio files you attach
- Voice models or voice cloning data
- Your library, session history, or project files
- Device identifiers, crash logs, or usage analytics
All AI inference (music generation, speech synthesis, voice cloning) is performed 100% locally on your Mac's Apple Silicon Metal GPU using the bundled MindMuse Engine.
3. Data We Collect
3.1 Purchases & In-App Passes (via Apple)
When you purchase a MindMuse Pass through the Mac App Store, all payment and billing data is handled exclusively by Apple Inc. We receive only:
- A confirmation that a purchase was made
- The product identifier of the item purchased
- The entitlements associated with your purchase (e.g.,
composer_pass,narrator_pass)
We do not receive your Apple ID, name, email address, credit card information, or any other personal information from Apple.
In-app purchases and receipt validation are handled by Apple. To restore prior purchases on another Mac, use the in-app Restore Purchases button. For Apple's privacy practices, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
3.2 Optional AI Producer (Cloud LLM)
MindMuse includes an optional AI Producer feature (Copilot) that can connect to third-party Large Language Model (LLM) providers such as:
- OpenAI (GPT models)
- Anthropic (Claude models)
- Google (Gemini models)
- Other compatible providers via custom endpoint
This feature is entirely opt-in. If you choose to use it, your text prompts and conversation context are sent to the provider you configure. We do not act as an intermediary — your prompts go directly from your device to the provider's API.
When using cloud LLM providers:
- You are subject to that provider's privacy policy and terms of service
- We strongly recommend using a provider that offers data opt-out or privacy controls
- Your provider credentials (keys) are stored only locally in the app's sandboxed data directory — they are never transmitted to our servers
If you do not configure a cloud LLM provider, the AI Producer will not send any data off your device.
3.3 Local App Data
MindMuse stores the following data locally on your Mac (in the app's sandbox container):
- App preferences and settings
- Generated audio library metadata (file paths, titles, timestamps)
- Entitlement state (which passes are active)
- LLM provider configuration (endpoint URL and credentials, stored in sandboxed local storage)
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
4. Children's Privacy
MindMuse is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Data Security
Because MindMuse processes all core functionality locally, your creative data is inherently protected. The app operates within the macOS App Sandbox and uses security-scoped bookmarks for any file access outside its container.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
- Objection: Object to certain processing
Since MindMuse does not collect personal data directly, most of these rights apply to Apple (for purchase data) or your chosen LLM provider (for AI Producer data). Contact those providers directly for exercise of those rights.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes and reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
